I went to the OB on Monday, and got to see the baby again. We couldn't tell if it has little boy or little girl parts, because the baby was extremely uncooperative. Even after a lot of prodding to my belly, the baby would kick its little feet and otherwise refused to move. It was probably sleeping and did not want to be bothered.
BUT... at one point, we saw just a little bit of extra tissue tucked among the legs and umbilical cord. So it might might might be a boy. But it's hard to know for sure. Either way, this baby does not like to be interrupted while sleeping. Just like its poor parents.
On a random note, two days ago, early in the morning, Gene heard some loud rustling sounds. He got up to investigate, and made an interesting discovery. The ferret stole a granola bar from my purse, opened the wrapper very neatly (no idea how she managed that) and was chomping away in total bliss. We can tell she loves a food when she eats with her eyes half closed. Which Gene observed her doing while eating the granola bar. So now I give her little morsels of the stuff every now and then. Ferrets are carnivores... but she is an odd little creature.
