Yesterday, Emeline crawled out of my sight for the first time. She still has major separation anxiety, of course, but she takes new steps towards independence every day. She can sit, crawl, and pull herself up to standing. Now, she pulls herself to standing and flings herself towards anything that interests her. Talk about a baby-proofing nightmare!
Gene was laid off two weeks ago. Budget cuts, they say. So, we are applying like mad and so far I have gotten two rejections, and he has gotten one rejection. Not much to show for over a dozen applications between us just this month. I am disgusted by the situation and applied to a local college. Hopefully in two years I will have an Associate's in medical lab technology. More employable and better pay than a stinking Master's degree in counseling. It's already long, difficult, and expensive to get licensure after you graduate with a counseling degree... now it's impossible to find a job. I know when to abandon a sinking ship. Let's hope Gene has some good luck and some blessings, since counseling is what he really wants to do.
