It's been over a month since the last post. The baby likes to be the absolute center of attention at all times, so it's tough to sit and type. Emeline currently has 4 teeth, and the last two weeks have been hellish as she is working on a couple more. She really has a funny personality. She plays her own version of hide and seek, loves to snuggle (well, mangle) the cat, and gives me a look of disdain whenever I tell her "no." She can say dada, mama and "I did it" (thanks to Dora the Explorer) and kitty. Her ability to put vowels and consonants together surprises me.
Emeline loves to push around a turned over laundry basket, like an old person with a walker. Pretty good for an 8 month old. Forget the Elmo walker; she hates confinement of any kind. That's why I haven't bothered with a high chair. She twisted and threw herself out of her bumbo-seat at five months, and still screams whenever I put her in the car-seat. Why buy a high chair?
She can't stand up unassisted yet, but she pulls herself up one-handed now with ease. She will hold onto the coffee table and my parents' house and walk circles around it. Her newest game, which drives me nuts, is to climb. If the girl can put her foot on it, she will attempt to climb it.
She still despises sleep. She is a pro at fighting it.
Gene and I have had lots of job interviews, and nearly as many rejections. He has a phone interview at a place in Utah, and I had one in Tallahassee that seemed promising. It's all up in the air and the uncertainty is driving me insane.
I'd rather not move...

I love hearing about Emeline. Sounds like she keeps you on your toes....to say the least!
