So, Gene lost out to another guy with a license and more experience. We are not moving to Escalante, after all. My tears fall on the keyboard as I type. At least he got a free trip to see his mom. We've applied to dozens of jobs since then, from here to North Carolina to Nevada. I am feeling hopeful. Well, I am praying and MAKING myself feel hopeful, to keep our morale up.

Emeline gives kisses now. Could she possibly get any cuter? When we visit my parents, I put her in her Elmo walker and she runs full speed. It is hilarious to watch her chase people and crash into things. That girl does nothing half-way. She is up to six teeth now, and this whole teething is going to be the death of me. It takes weeks for a tooth to come in, and we all suffer the entire time.

She still sleeps for two hours or less at a time. Yeah. Don't talk to me about crying it out, because it failed abominably. The girl has lungs and more will-power than I have ever seen in a baby. She acts more like a little person than a baby, so my philosophy is to follow her cue (up to a point) and let her set her own schedule. It works ok for us, and she seems to develop just fine. Of course, she is not prime material for daycare, so if I wish to work, we need to stay near family so they can take care of her. She's sweet, but would probably not be well tolerated by non-relatives.
So, the job hunting is a little complicated because Gene needs a job that will support all of us, or we both need to find jobs close to Thomasville. Those are both hard to find at the moment.

Otherwise, life is going pretty well and we have hopes that it will continue to get better.

Oh the sleeping thing is a killer! I have had so many lectures by friends and not friends telling me how I am doing it wrong! I figure Jack is only this little once and I can get through it and let him create his own schedule! He didn't really start sleeping through the night til after he turned one and we still have our rough nights! Hang in there and don't let people give you a hard time at all about either!
