Is it February? Really?

Where does the time go? Days seem long, but the weeks zoom by so quickly. Emeline finally is a solid size 18 months in clothing. I was afraid she'd be in 12 months forever. Her grasp of language is continually surprising; at least once a day she uses a word that she shouldn't know at only two. That is, of course, when she deigns to grace us with the spoken word. Emeline is perfectly capable of throwing unintelligible fits, especially when Gene or I am trying to figure out what she wants so we can help her. Argh!

Emeline has a stubborn, spunky, assertive personality and as frustrating as she can be, I am so grateful that she stands up for herself and is not easily swayed. Those traits will serve her well and hopefully she uses them for good!

She is learning the artful use of adorable, heart-melting apologies. It is hard to stay mad when she says "Sowwy mama! Sowwy dada!"

As for Gene and I, the routine is basically the same. He goes to work and sloooooowly gets closer to licensure. I am doing the stay at home thing and working on being ever thriftier. I definitely want to go back to school but the time doesn't seem right just yet.

I love your updates! Emeline is so precious. It takes a lot of commitment (not to mention PATIENCE) to be a stay-at-home mother. I definitely have my days when I wonder if they'd be better off without me and my faults making impressions on them all day long. But I know I'm where I'm supposed to be! You're awesome, Rachel!
