| Farside Thanksgiving |
So, I never got around to posting things I am thankful for on facebook, because so many of those statuses seemed so trite. The superstitious part of me doesn't want to garner bad karma by being ungrateful, so... here goes.
1. Dr. Obiekwe in Opelika, Alabama. She delivered Emeline and her quickness and decisiveness saved our lives.
2. Friends who pushed Gene and I to date. You know who you are!
3. My child has never gone hungry for lack of food.
4. We have a car that works.
5. We have a home that is warm in the winter and cool-ish in the summer.
6. My family is sound of mind.
7. My family is healthy.
8. Gene has a steady job.
9. I have found part time work.
10. Emeline is able to go to school.
11. True friends. They are rare and precious.
12. Good enough health to take care of my family, work, have hobbies, and exercise.
13. We live in a safe neighborhood in a safe town. It's not perfect but could be so much worse.
14. Freedom to worship God as I choose.
15. I live in a great country. It's not perfect, but it is still great.
We had roast beef, mashed potatoes, fried onions, and gravy. It was simple but made from scratch and I definitely ate too much. So many people suffer from want, disease, and oppression. We have so much in comparison, and I am so thankful.
